“We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone — we find it with another.”
Thomas Merton
Does this sound familiar?
You love each other, but you keep getting stuck in the same painful patterns.
Conversations quickly turn into arguments.
One or both of you feels unheard or misunderstood.
The closeness you once felt has slowly been replaced by distance.
You find yourselves having the same fight over and over again, unsure how to move forward.
These patterns can leave both partners feeling frustrated, discouraged, and alone.

Relationships don’t have to stay this way.
Meet your therapist | Matt duarte, LMFT
I work with couples and individuals who feel stuck in patterns of conflict, disconnection, or uncertainty in their relationships. Many of the people I work with care deeply about their relationships, but find themselves returning to the same difficulties without resolution.
In my work, I focus on helping people slow things down and better understand what’s happening beneath the surface of those moments. Often, there are deeper emotions, needs, and patterns that aren’t being fully seen or heard. When those begin to come into focus, something meaningful can start to shift.
My approach is grounded in attachment-theory, which means we focus on building emotional safety and strengthening the connection between partners. Together, we work to create new ways of communicating—ones that allow both people to feel understood, supported, and more connected.
Over time, many clients find that they are able to navigate conflict with greater clarity, reconnect emotionally, and experience a renewed sense of closeness in their relationships.

Couples can find themselves stuck in patterns of conflict or distance that feel difficult to change. Therapy provides a space to slow things down, understand the patterns that keep you stuck, and develop new ways of communicating, reconnecting, and supporting one another.
-
You don’t have to be in couples therapy to work on your relationships. Individual therapy offers space to explore relationship patterns, better understand your needs and responses, and build healthier, more secure ways of connecting with others.
-
Infidelity can be one of the most painful experiences a relationship can face, leaving both partners feeling hurt, confused, and unsure of the future. Therapy offers a supportive space to understand what has happened, begin rebuilding trust, and explore what healing and repair can look like moving forward.

If your relationship is at a crossroads and you’re unsure whether to stay together or separate, discernment counseling offers a structured space to thoughtfully explore your options and gain clarity about the path forward.
